Gender Identity in Schools – Should It Be Taught?

I don’t think gender identity and gender expression being taught in schools is an easy decision. This needs to be thought through carefully and strategically. If governments decide to put gender identity into the curriculum, what age is most appropriate to introduce these concepts to children? There are some schools in the United States that implemented this as low as Kindergarten! Does this add confusion to children? Does this make them question their own identity in a forced sense, rather than it happening naturally through free play and socialization?
Gender Identity has become a hot topic and I would love to know what you think about this being taught to children as this has been pulled from the curriculum in Ontario, Canada.
Looking forward to your comments 🙂
