Although there are many different kinds of anxiety disorders, this video explains 6 must know symptoms of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. This is a mental illness I suffer from but have learned to manage anxiety symptoms successfully. We need to acknowledge that we all experience anxiety, as it is a very important emotion to push us into the “fight” state if we are in danger or threatened.
Unfortunately, more people are experiencing anxiety when there is no immediate danger or significant threat to their life. This is when GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) comes into play. When you are feeling more anxious than not and begin to realize that anxiety is having a negative effect on your life, then it is time to seek extra help.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder includes the following symptoms: Restlessness, Fatigue, Difficulty Concentrating, Irritability, Muscle Tension and Sleep Disturbance.
These symptoms need to be read in context because if you have a bad day, these are pretty normal symptoms and feelings that may follow. The diagnostic rule for Generalized Anxiety Disorder is that those symptoms need to be present more days than not for at least 6 months. If you have dealt with anxiety and continue to struggle, I stand with you and applaud your strength and will to continue.
