Christianity and Mental Illness | Trauma Talk

Our friend Jo is well experienced with Christianity and has her own story with a mental illness. When we think of treating mental illness we usually think of a variety of psychological approaches using therapy or medical intervention. In Jo’s case, having strong foundation in Christianity wasn’t the issue and not the cause of mental illness.
If you have experienced this type of fundamentalism in your religion, especially if Christianity was your religion of choice, please comment and share your experiences with the world. I’m sure in many cases, faith is enough to battle mental illness but in the majority of cases, prayer alone is not enough to alter brain chemistry.
Thank you again Jo for coming on the channel and living by our mission here at Depression to Expression.
